Homestay experience

Happy Lunar New Year!
As I mug (urban dictionary: stuffing a great deal of information from the textbook into his head, meaning tons of mere studying for long periods of time. realise mugging in this context is only understood by singaporeans. Not robbing on the streets, dont worry) for my exam tomorrow and get over and done with this summer subject, just felt like posting this up.

----
When i arrived in Melbourne for the first time, my bro and mum came with me. Landed in the airport with Angela and Tom at the airport waving my name at the gate <3

Headed home and saw my bedroom for the first time. Looked exactly like what she sent me through email :)

Here's my huge bedroom <3

Mum really enjoying the comfort of the room

Then there was a little stained glass window
And Victorian-style ceiling

Wide door <3

 EXTREMELY CLEAN BATHROOM <3

View of the park. was taken in winter so trees were barren :'D

When I landed, I had a lot of stuff in school to handle - enrolment, timetabling etc.
So, while i was busy in school, Tom and Angela took mum and bro out :')
Really really sweet of them...

But what I really love about this whole experience was this heart breaker <3
Felix Rockafella Romeo

And of course my buddy Max <3 who accompanies me when I have my dinner alone sometimes and when I decide to study in the dining room at times for a change of environment <3 He'll always sit right beside, like this <3

The whole family loves him too. Felix especially <3
But it's tough love between the both of them :'D
You see them hugging one moment and fighting the next (pulling his hair, pushing him away)

And the other thing was the food they cook. Mega mega love.
Angela used to be a pastry chef & baked cakes and Tom used to work in an Italian restaurant (& owned one at a point in time)

They always make an effort to make me feel at home with their food and introduce new dishes to me too. Here's Aussie BBQ

And this was when they brought me to a chinese restaurant <3<3 TASTED SO GOOD.

And NOT JUST THAT, they even brought me to strawberry farm cause I was obsessed with AU strawberries

Then the next heartbreaker was born last year, Bugatti Romeo <3

Had a mini celebration to welcome him to the house <3

Look at how well Felix is taking care of Gatti! Awesome brother

Also had a birthday celebration for Felix :')

Then Felix and I became really close after while <3
And it was the best feeling ever. He will knock on my door every day to ask me out to play, he brings his toys out and impress me, he will reach out and hold my hand and show me to his parents (HAHAHA, so damn cute), he will bring me to the living room to watch his cartoons with him (i dont watch cartoons, but i accompany him anyway), he will hug me all of a sudden and sometimes attempt to kiss me, he will ask me to carry and hold him.... This is maybe only half of how it feels like to be an elder sister :')

Angela holding him and him giving a cheeky face. hehehe

Leaving this family was bitter sweet.
Bitter to leave such a loving family and my best buddy <3
But sweet cause I knew a whole new experience was coming up for me.
(Tom being camera shy and trying to hide behind Felix :'D)

a lot of people ask me about my homestay experience cause I always talk about it. Especially pictures of Felix, pictures of the food they cook, tweeting about stuff I do with felix and how he melts my heart...

(adding on: and I just wanna say this abruptly cause I wanna go back to studying... that the whole purpose of a homestay is to communicate with the family. I think if anyone has the mentality of getting the most valuable accomodation, just stay in the room all day, coming out only for dinner, coming home late etc, maybe it's not the best option for you)

k enjoy the pictures
